Boy shot by cop
in street gang riot
A 17-year old boy walking home after attending a Misa de Gallo at the San Pedro Cathedral was shot dead by a policeman trying to break up two youth gangs engaged in a street riot early morning of Sunday.
Mark Allego died from a bullet in the back reportedly fired by SPO1 Lando Artiaga of the Sandawa outpost of the Talomo Police precinct.
The victim reportedly was passing by the rioting youths when hit by the bullet.
The shooting happened a few minutes after police also broke up two gangs who clashed in front of the cathedral shortly after the first Misa de Gallo.
Elements of the San Pedro police collared several teenagers armed with home-made guns and knives.
