Communist rebels attacked a mining company in Compostela Valley on Thursday afternoon, and fled with several firearms after also torching heavy equipment that included a pay loader P42 million.
No one was hurt in the attack on the office of Apex Mining in Masara, Maco municipality.
The AFP Eastern Mindanao Command (EastMinCom) said 13 security guards belonging to the Black Fighter Security Agency were disarmed by the New Peoples Army (NPA) rebels, who carted away 40 cal. 38 revolvers, five M16 Armalite rifles, mobile phones and hand-held radio equipment.
