DMC Urban Property Developers Inc turned over Friday to unit owners of Ecoland 4000 Residences, its first project in Davao City, proving wrong critics saying condominiums could be a hazardous venture in this premier city in southern Mindanao.
Leonora Gutierrez, area manager for Mindanao of Consunji-owned DMC-UPDI, said all units have been sold out as Vice President Noli de Castro flew into town to inaugurate the project in Ecoland near SM City.
“The first condominium in Davao City is finally here,” she said, proud that DMC-UPDI came ahead of other developers and proved critics wrong.
“When we first started last year, everyone was telling us that the Davao market was not yet prepared for condominium living, but we sold out all our units,” Gutierrez said.
Initially at P1.8 million in 2007, buyers gobbled up remaining units in 2008 with price upped to P2.3 million, said Guttierez.
Friday was victory day for DMC Urban Property Developers Inc. as it also launched on the same day its new development, the Magallanes Residences, which will feature three 7-story buildings along the Magallanes area right at the heart of the city.
