But says priest had reformed
Davao Archbishop Fernando Capalla today admitted Fr. Pedro “Pete” Lamata had contracted marriage during the early days of his priesthood but had been suspended to make amends before he was accepted back into the priesthood.
The admission confirmed Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s accusation Fr. Pete was married despite being a priest. The mayor made the revelation on Sunday during his television program on ABS/CBN in an apparent response to FR. Pete’s refusal to accept a city-government funded Yuletide gifts of foodstuff to be distributed to poor families in Fr. Pete’s parish, St. Mary’s Parish in Buhangin.
