Survey shows Ungab reelection a done deal

An independent survey showed Davao City’s Third District Congressman Isidro Ungab flying high to score a wide yawning margin against returning former Congressman Ruy Elias Lopez in the coming congressional battle in May.
Results of the survey by a local outfit indicate Ungab, a member of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s local bloc Hugpong sa Tawong Lungsod, could finally put an end to the Lopez hold in the district when he battles Ruy Elias Lopez, who has alligned himself with Lakas-Kampi-CMD local head Speaker Prospero Nograles.
In the survey of 1,200 respondents in the Third District, Ungab garnered 69%, with Lopez capping a measly 14% showing. Three other names included in the survey—city councilors Nonoy Al-ag, Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz and Victorio Advincula—split the balance at 4% apiece.
The survey indicates a repeat victory for Ungab who trounced councilor Rene Lopez, brother of Ruy Elias, in the 2007 elections.
The survey also gave a resounding vote for Vice Mayor Sara Duterte (91%) against Speaker Prospero Nograles (9%) in the mayoral contest. In the race for vice mayor, former vice mayor Luis Bonguyan netted a score of 42 % against former mayor and vice mayor Ben de Guzman, who got the nod of 39 per cent of respondents pooled by the survey conducted this month.
