MARAMAG, Bukidnon – The Maramag Water District (MWD) is opposing a plan by a company to expand its pineapple plantation in barangay San Miguel of this town.
MWD general manager Rosemarie Agustin said the expansion could endanger water sources. She did not name the company but added the expansion involved hundreds of hectares.
The water sources could be contaminated by synthetic chemicals sprayed in the plantation, said Agustin.
We have already filed our opposition, said Agustin. Who said San Miguel is a major water source.
