Congressman Karlo Nograles one of founders of new Arroyo party

Who says Nogie is politically dead?

Who says former Speaker Prospero Nograles would die a political death in the manner of former President Gloria Arroyo and her party the Lakas-Kampi?
Arroyo is incarcerated on graft charges while her Lakas-Kampi is in shatters with members joining the Liberal Party bandwagon that pushed Mr. Benigno Aquino to the presidency in 2010 polls.
Has Nograles died?
No and there is a new political machinery, with son First District congressman Karlo Nograles among its founders, that could egg him to take a fourth crack at the Davao City mayoral post in the 2013 elections.
The Commission on Election was expected to approve the application of the National Unity Party (NUP) as a political party next month, said a reliable source. Comelec has set March as deadline for approval of political parties to qualify as a credited national party in the 2013 elections.
NUP was founded by stalwarts of the Arroyo party that included Congressman Karlo Nograles. Documents show the NUP filed its application with Comelec as a party on December 27 last year.
Its lead actors included Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia and eight other governors, and Davao City Congressman Karlo Nograles and 32 other members of the House of Representatives.
NUP would be the party that could carry former Speaker Nograles to take a fourth attempt at the mayoral seat, said an insider in Team Nograles, the local political bloc behind Nograles’ battle against Mayor Sara Duterte last year where he was defeated by more than 220,000 votes in his third attempt to capture City Hall.
